The "Risør year-round" destination process focuses on developing a long-term strategy for the visitor industry in Risør, in collaboration with the neighboring municipalities of Vegårshei and Gjerstad.
The area's main challenge is the clear seasonal structure - with high activity 6-8 weeks in the summer and low visits the rest of the year. The strategy is threefold:
Five strategic areas of focus have been identified: establishing new seasons, using events as a "reason to go", focusing on Risør's historic center, building teams through knowledge-based collaboration, and creating good framework conditions for business development.
