Christmas in the White City - Christmas program in Risør

At the end of November, Risør's charming center is transformed into a beautiful Christmas town, full of real old-fashioned Christmas spirit.

🎄 November 29th – Christmas street opening

The official opening of the Christmas town of Risør!

• Lighting of the Christmas tree at Torvet at 5 pm
• Santa is coming, and cocoa is served from 15
• Music and Christmas atmosphere throughout the city center
• The shops are open until 5 pm.

🎠 December 6th – Activity Day

• Children's bus with prizes for everyone from 13 on Torvet
• Christmas workshop in Risørhuset 11 am–1 pm
• The shops are open until 4 pm.

🧑‍🎄 December 12th – Evening opening: Nissorama

• Nissorama from 5–7 pm – guess who's hiding behind the Santa costume!
• Reveal at 7 p.m.
• Cocoa on the Square at 6 pm – some cups have prizes!
• The shops offer activities and are open until 8 p.m.

🕯 December 13th – Lucia

• 12: Lussekatter and juice at Torvet, the children's choir sings
• 1 p.m.: The horses from Skjævestad take us on a tour of the city
• The shops are open until 4 pm.

🛍 December 14th – Open Sundays

• The shops are open from 2–6 p.m.

🎶 December 18th – Open in the evening and eat out for NOK 150

• Music on the Square from 5 pm
• Children are encouraged to dress up as elves and join in the Christmas tree walk.
• Several restaurants offer a reasonable dish for NOK 150.
  (at Sardinfabrikken, Strand, Chin Chin, Rådhusgata, Brygga and China Palace)
• The shops are open until 9 pm.

🐴 December 20th – Horse and carriage

• From 12 noon, the city will be visited by the horses from Skjævestad – join us for a tour of the Christmas-decorated streets.

🛍 December 21st – Open Sundays

• The shops are open from 2–6 p.m.

🎁 December 23rd – Little Christmas Eve

• The shops are open until 7 p.m.

🎅 December 24th – Christmas Eve

• The shops are open until 1 p.m.

Christmas gift with meaning

Outside the Salvation Army stands a special gift tree with little hearts and wishes from people in the local community.

‍
Bring a heart, buy the gift and deliver it unwrapped to Beisland, Embla or Jernia – they will wrap it and ensure that the Salvation Army delivers it.

‍
Gifts for all ages are welcome, including home-knitted socks and mittens.
A collaboration between the Salvation Army and the City of Risør.

Stamp card – win great Christmas gifts

Shop locally and get stamps! After ten stamps you will be entered into a draw for 24 great Christmas gifts.

Deliver the card to one of Risør's stores - winners will be contacted directly.

The city turns into a winter wonderland; the narrow streets and beautiful white wooden houses are adorned with Christmas lights and decorations that create a magical atmosphere.

Take a break with a glass of something good at one of the charming nightlife spots, or attend one of the many events taking place during the Christmas month.
