Boundless experiences in Østre Agder

Saturday, May 3rd, at 1:00 PM, the starting gun will be fired for Risør's very first Tom Waits run – an informal tribute to the poet of the bars and the dark side of life.

With 10 dining venues on the map, local music and home-designed t-shirts, the whole city is invited to join us for an afternoon and evening out of the ordinary.

Today's walk

The event starts at Risør Hotel at 1:00 PM , where participants are given maps, t-shirts and their first stamp. From there, the route goes via the city's bars and eateries – with plenty of time to enjoy both food, drinks and the atmosphere – before the entire race culminates in concerts in Rådhusgata from 5:00 PM .

The music program:

  • 5:00 PM: Concert with Andreas Eriksen , known from Idol – local artist with a distinctive personality and presence.
  • 18.00: The duo Mads and Kent provide further atmosphere.
  • 19.00: Andreas Eriksen finishes with an extra set in the evening sun.

Participating locations: Brygga Restaurant, Park Cafe, Rådhusgata, Peterhead Pub, Promenaden, Stranden, China Palace, Chin Chin, Play Café, Kunstparken – all offering their own little surprises along the way.

The talented people from Bar Events are on hand at Rådhusgata to show off their cocktail knowledge.

The T-shirts are specially designed for the occasion and can be purchased at the start – it's first come, first served, so get there early.

Order T-shirt by tipping for 250 kr. with reference Waits 2025

Help create the travel experiences of the future

Six neighboring municipalities in Østre Agder have joined forces to explore and develop new tourism experiences in the region.

A 7-month collaborative project (June-December 2025) supported by Agder County Council and Østre Agder IPR, which will investigate opportunities for new and regenerative tourism products in the municipalities of Risør, Tvedestrand, Froland, Vegårshei, Åmli and Gjerstad.

Regenerative tourism is about building on resources that already exist and that create positive effects.

What we are working on now

  • Concrete proposals that can be tested and validated in the main project
