Meet Erika Fatland in conversation with journalist and former NRK editor Steinar Nielsen.
Erika Fatland is a social anthropologist and has received a number of awards for previous non-fiction books such as "Sovjetistan" and "Grensen: en reise arund Russland". This time she addresses Portugal's former colonial history and Erika Fatland has written a travelogue with unforgettable human encounters, destinies and stories; from the Portuguese Empire and the 15th century explorers, through the fall of the colonial empire in the 1970s and up to the present day.
Fatland has been working on the new book for four years and has visited 26 countries as part of the research.
