Heavenly Peace in Risør Church
On December 21, the Vetlesen/Dørsdal/Halvorsen trio will be visiting Risør Church with the Christmas concert Himmelsk ro. The trio's Christmas concert is gradually becoming well-known to the audience, and has become a tradition for many. As the title suggests, the goal of the concert is to create a lovely respite in the busy pre-Christmas period.
The musicians have different backgrounds, and find their unique musical expression in meeting each other and the most beautiful Christmas hymns, folk tunes and classical Christmas music. Vetlesen is a trained classical singer and opera singer and is based in Lillesand. Eirik Dørsdal is a jazz trumpeter, and is based in Risør. Tor Morten Halvorsen is a pianist and organist in Risør, living in Lyngør. Together they find great joy in creating short, atmospheric Christmas concerts, and have concerts in Risør and Dypvåg churches in addition to Lillesand.
They bring a young, local singing talent to their concerts, and also invite the audience to join in on the singing. A cup of hot mulled wine is served at the entrance.
