With glowing reviews under his belt, Lars Jakob Rudjord comes to Risør Kunstpark and the Finstemt Association with music from his new album Kjempe-Jo!
How excited we are! And what a star team Rudjord has with them:
Lars Jakob Rudjord – piano, keyboards
Sigrid Moldestad – Hardanger fiddle
Kåre Opheim - drums
Lars Jakob Rudjord, pianist and composer from Farsund, explores impulses from southern Norwegian folk music, and weaves them into his own musical world inspired by Nordic jazz and modern classical music.
And the music on his latest album is inspired by a rather personal story:
In the 19th century, a mythical figure lived in Tovdal in Agder: A legendary man, known among the people as Kjempe-Jo. He was a fighter no one could defeat, but also an excellent dancer. He was huge, walked on his hands steadily and steadily, and once he killed a bear with his bare hands. The man's name was Jon Olsen (1816-1883), and he was Lars Jakob Rudjord's great-great-grandfather.
