Concert with Signe Førre Quartet
Welcome to a concert with Signe Førre, the singing bassist who first visited the jazz club in 2022.
The musical intensity and rhythmic complexity of the Balkan peninsula's cultural heritage have made Signe Førre want to mix this with the distinctive Norwegian musical tradition. The result is a completely new expression where Signe leads a quartet that has tentacles out into a wide range of genres. The music is a journey into Signe's musical universe where folk music and jazz are fused together, with singing in Serbian, Macedonian, English, Norwegian and Bulgarian, to name a few.
The debut album Fagert was released in 2024, and is definitely worth checking out (Spotify).

Risør Wooden Boat Festival has been visited by 10-15,000 people every year since 1984 at the beginning of August. We are the meeting place for some of the world's most beautiful wooden boats. In addition, we promote coastal culture and traditional crafts in boats and construction. We have activities for all generations through a large program, both academic and social.
