We're back ready to bring you real Nirvana magic with an authentic remake of the legendary MTV concert, which was played on November 18, 1993 and released as an album in 1994, with a concert remake from start to finish.
It's been 30 years since Kurt Cobain and Nirvana performed one of the most legendary unplugged concerts of all time on MTV. The concert album, which was released on November 1, 1994, quickly climbed the sales charts around the world and was #1 in the US and UK, among others.
At the concert, the audience expected to hear the super hit "Smells Like Teen Spirit". They didn't get that, but instead they heard cover songs by David Bowie, The Vaselines and Huddie Ledbetter (Leadbelly) - and of course a whole bunch of Nirvana songs. The Meat Puppets were also guest artists at the concert, and three songs from their album "Meat Puppets II" were played.
The stage was "decorated" with flowers and candles, at the request of frontman Kurt Cobain. Cobain reportedly wanted it to look like a funeral.
We are recreating the magical evening with a band consisting of
Hans Inge Rosland, guitar
Lars Songe, guitar
Juan Gomez, bass
Mats Engkvist, drums
Kent Nilssen, vocals
Tickets NOK 250 can be purchased in advance at vipps no. 687525 (mark: nirvana), or at the door.
