The idea to start a boat rental business in Risør came about during a voyage from Gothenburg to Risør. When Peder Andreas Eriksen and Peter Mejlhus came ashore, they had talked through the concept and were determined to put it into practice.

To start with, they have two Askeladden 14-footers and two Maxi 26-foot sailboats that they will rent out from the Inner Harbor. This is not a project they expect to get rich from.

The price for renting a boat from the two newly established boat rental companies is reasonable. For less than a thousand kroner you can rent a boat for a whole day.

One of the reasons they came up with the idea is that Mejlhus, who runs Rådhusgata Spiseri, kept getting questions from guests about where they could rent a boat.

We look forward to seeing how this exciting new concept is received, and we encourage both residents and tourists to head to the Inner Harbor to try a trip on the lake.
